  1. They see your ground heading, which is more commonly referred to as your track.
  2. I couldn't answer your question, however, a minor note on heading vs track. When a controller gives an instruction to "turn to heading xxx," they mean heading. It is the controllers' job to account for wind. I wouldn't expect for this to account for your continued re-vectoring, as it would only be a few degrees unless the wind is a very large crosswind. For adequately equipped aircraft such as yours, a controller can also issue a "track" instruction, such as "track the xxx outbound radial from BOS," but the controller has to specify track instead of heading.
  3. Maybe we could start charging user fees. 5 cents per flight go to BVA, and 5 cents to each controller that handles your flight. An incentive to be online during off peak hours. Think about that people, during our events, you stand to make $2 in one night just talking to people. Sure our member count would drop to nothing in no time flat, but controllers would be online and ready to handle your moneyimean flight.
  4. Same for REX. Turn it off by turning the dial in the upper-right for Essentials users.
  5. I think that it would be best if you turned it off. The only thing the weather engine does is create a weather environment, which BVA will already have.
  6. I think that only means it specifies runway 33. As in, you are not allowed to use it if you are taking off from 15, only 33 which is to the north. They wouldn't build an extra thousand feet of runway if that means someone flying to IAD or ATL could not use it.
  7. FSX does not simulate sloped runways. If you were to fly into it, you would find a 9,100 ft. flat runway. The surrounding terrain might be fun though, just for the flying challenge.
  8. I think he only meant two at a time. Like a DJ between same-airline hubs.
  9. Whats the actual objective though? Sounds fun for the pilot to do one or two approaches, but it feels like a PP type thing. As for VHHX, the airport is closed (and at the moment is being developed into harbor and park land) so to do anything involving that would go against RL (not that bad). On the AVSIM library I have an ILS approach into Kai Tak, feel free to download it. It will work even if you have a payware add on.
  10. I like Phils idea too. This reminds me of something I pitched for UALR a few months ago. What if we could staff every controller slot at Boston, but also every flight. There could be a sign up sheet (I know its more structured than hoped) and pilots would then fly the correct flight into or out of Boston. Obviously there would be a lack of aircraft we can use, so the default FSX Airbus would apply to all Airbus flights unless you have a payware version. I think it would be a sight to see (or have recorded and then time compressed) a simulated Boston airport for at least 12 hours, 24 if we can.
  11. On the front page advertising the HTC,it says KSLC.
  12. Have a look at the main page. The weekly poll shows 87%-Yes.
  13. I have two ways around some of our logistical issues (obviously we cant solve them all). 1. Why don't we look at the long term weather forcast and plan the event using real world weather. We will look for incoming weather (like CA right now) and gt the word out about a week in advance. It would be flown PP or RC style. 2. We can set a date, which allows for long-term planning. Our BVA controller sign-up sheet will be something generic, like "Class Charlie Airport" and "Class Bravo Airport" and at ~6pm everybody who wants to, will go into the Office Hours Teamspeak and we will all search our national weather and decide then. We will (hopefully) decide by 7, where Evan can post on the homepage what city pair our 8pm event will be.
  14. I noticed last night that the server's weather setting was set to "Grey and Rainy." I am assuming this is because of Microsoft's weather issue. I thought it was a little strange untill I heard about that. Now that thats cleared up, I should probobly stop typing as there is no real point or question to be debated/answered here...
