  1. Nice job! Congrats! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. Take the time to give a big CONGRATS to RB for passing his Class B Tower OTS this evening. After a flawless 2 hour long network session, we headed to the SweatBox, which it turn was 'turned up to 11...' 4 VFR aircraft in the pattern, all with 5 mile spacing of the big guys coming in on both 22L and 27. All handled seamlessly. Job well done! Keep up the great work!
  3. Just wanted to take a moment to congratulate Brandon (IR) for his recent promotion to S3. After a few daunting sessions in the Sweatbox, Brandon was able to handle a mother-load of traffic as the converged into KPVD. The vectoring was simply beautiful! Couldn't have done better myself! Congrats and welcome back to the TRACON! Looking forward to sharing the scopes with you soon!
  4. Wanted to take some time to recognize Boston Ground's newest controller, Sean Doyle (DY) after successfully completing his OTS for the Class B Certification this past weekend! Nice job and welcome to Boston!
  5. Congrats BN and very well deserved. Looking forward to working with you in the future!
  6. Agree on all counts! What an outstanding achievement! While researching the Pilot Ratings on VATSIM, I thought to myself "I wonder how our PRP program would hold up to this?" This question was answered with this outstanding news! Great job by those involved behind the scenes! It's a great privilege to have such a program available to pilots. Looking forward to helping out a number of pilots who are eager to learn some of the advanced aviation techniques available in the PRP Program!
  7. Very nicely done Kyle! There is a ton of time and effort involved in achieving that Center cert. Congrats for a job well done!
  8. Great to have you back!~ Looking forward to sharing the scopes!
  9. We threw the book at HI in some very difficult IMC conditions at KBOS and he handled the situation like a pro! Phraseology, Frequency Presence, and overall positive control of the difficult situation proved more than enough that he is deserving for his full Class B Tower Certification. Reaching this milestone is an outstanding achievement, as this is the highest certification a local controller can obtain before transitioning to the TRACON. Congrats and enjoy! Looking forward to working with you in the 'dark room' very soon!
  10. Thanks everyone! Even more impressive was BN's ability to type that paragraph with minimal spelling and grammatical errors with only one functioning hand. Next time, remember to keep the fork out of the electrical sockets!
  11. BVA Team: As you know, Flight SimCon 2014 is fast approaching! The event takes place at the New England Air Museum at KBDL on June 7-8, 2014. BVA is investing in the event to help draw aviation enthusiasts to our community. Given that these expenses are slightly different in nature than our standard, annual operating expenses, we wanted to ensure we were being entirely transparent. In total, BVA will be spending approximately $600 in support of the event, including promotional materials such as polo shirts and business cards for our representatives, as well as an informational pamphlet. The funds also include the “Jet Fuel” T-shirt campaign we are running during the event. Given that these are non-standard, one-time expenses, we have reached out to some of our largest donors over the past years to ensure they are comfortable with the way we are putting their funds to use. We have also been prudent with our sourcing of each of the materials, including price comparisons from at least two suppliers for each item, and optimizing the quantities of the items we are producing. We have also budgeted $200 to acquire a Professional License for Prepar3D (as this expense has not yet occurred, it is not listed in the current budget). We believe that for all practical purposes, P3D V2 is the obvious upgrade for FSX. We must find a way to accommodate those who want to use P3D while protecting the investments in FSX that many of our members have made. For this reason we will be looking into creating a compatibility platform between the two products. Transparency in all of our expenditures is important to us. As always, please let us know of any questions or concerns about our financials. Thank you and safe flying!
  12. Thanks again you guys! The work you all accomplish behind the scenes is consistently above and beyond all expectations.
