Position Posting – Scenery Design Team Member

 

 

Purpose

The Boston Virtual ARTCC (BVA) is a unique community in that we have a dedicated Scenery Design Team that provides customized and accurate airport scenery for almost all of our operations. We hold the distinction of having the most in-house scenery packages for a single community. Since the formation of BVAs Scenery Design Team 5+ years ago, we have produced almost 150 individual airport updates, each of which is freely available to all members of BVA. No other flight simulation community, anywhere, can boast that fact.

 

The team has produced some incredibly beautiful renditions in all corners of the United States, Canada, and even a few unique locations worldwide. The BVA Administration Team is now seeking qualified individuals to join the team as Scenery Design Team Member(s).

 

Key Accountabilities

• Reports to Facilities Engineer (FE)

• When assigned a project, be prepared to dedicate 2-3 hrs per week to the team

• Design, construct, and distribute airport update files for BVA community events

• Render, test, and validate airport updates before packaging the files into automatic installers and writing the associated install documentation

• Maintains a regular presence online and responds promptly to emails

• Performs other duties as assigned by ATM/DATM/FE

• Functions as a staff member and attends periodic meetings as necessary

 

Requirements

• Be able to follow assigned deadlines with no delay

• Active pilot on the network in good standing with a clean history

• Capable of working well in team-oriented environment

• Excellent written and oral communication skills

• Attention to detail and the ability to stay patient

 

Preferred Skills

• Be well versed in the file structure of FSX and in how to use the FSX SDK

• Leadership, managerial, or supervisory experience

• Real world aviation/pilot experience
