Good Morning,

Just out of curiosity, can pilots get the same services from a VATSIM Center controller as they can from a real world FSS?  If so, is it only time permitting?

Madison,

Take a look at these two threads for some discussion that has taken place in the past regarding the topic of flight service stations on VATSIM.

Don's post here and here both do a good job of summing up staffing FS stations separately.

As far as Center controllers providing those services, which services are you referring to exactly? A lot of the services like opening and closing flight plans, giving clearances out of untowered airports, etc. are already being provided. They also take PIREPs and issue weather advisories. What else would you be interested in that flight service provides?

You covered everything I was wondering about.  I was just curious if such a position existed in VATSIM.

Thanks,
